Job Overview
As a Staff Attorney, you will play a vital role in providing legal support and expertise within the organization. This position offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of legal matters and contribute to the success of the legal team.

Duties
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various legal issues
- Draft legal documents, including briefs, pleadings, and contracts
- Provide legal advice and guidance to clients
- Represent clients in court proceedings
- Assist in developing strategies for resolving legal issues
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the organization

Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of Family Law
- Familiarity with Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis for legal research
- Understanding of Tribal Law Regulations is a plus
- Experience in Legal Administrative tasks within a law office setting
- Knowledge of working with different areas of law

-Understanding of “holistic” legal services and trauma-informed, client-centered legal work.

-Familiarity with the needs of victims of domestic and sexual violence in Montana – particularly rural, Native American, and LGBTQ victims.

-Law degree from accredited law school and license to practice law in the state of Montana. (Anticipated graduation and admittance to state bar in 2024 acceptable).

-Prior civil legal experience, preferably experience working with victims of crime.

-Desire to provide legal services to survivors of violence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
