Job Description
The Ideal candidate will ensure smooth running of the office and effective case management by providing legal services under the supervision of our land use & zoning attorney. This individual will communicate frequently with the clients to serve them adequately.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Collect, examine, and organize evidence and other legal documents for attorney review and case preparation.
Research Regulations, laws, and legal articles to assist with the preparation of reports, case files, and legal advice
Draft and proofread correspondence and legal documents, such as pleadings and contracts
Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings, interviews, and depositions.
Research Properties and Zoning Categories and prepare zoning applications.
Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems.
Proficient in coordinating and calendaring depositions, mediations, hearings, court deadlines, etc.
Requirements
Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and keep deadlines
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
Detail oriented, ability to multi-task and prioritize
Manage a fast-paced environment and manage workload with a great attitude and minimal supervision
Must know how to navigate the Property Appraisers website
Skill to understand a Deed
Experience
1-3 years of experience as a legal assistant, legal secretary, paralegal, or real estate closing agent
2 years of Microsoft Office experience
Ability to quickly navigate and independently learn practice management software
Working Hours
9am-5pm Monday through Friday
