The Law Firm of Alex Dell, PLLC is seeking an Associate Attorney to join our Firm’s Social Security Disability Department in representing disabled clients with their Social Security Disability Insurance and Supplemental Security Income claims.
We encourage new graduates to apply as we will provide training in all aspects of administrative case management throughout the entire Social Security Disability claims process. This position requires direct collaboration with attorneys and EDPNA's in handling all claims, supervising case managers and support staff, and overseeing client communications.
Other job duties may include evaluating case referrals and/or claim denials to determine merits of claims and scope of representation; implementing case development and case strategies; preparing clients and cases for hearing; communicating regularly with representatives at SSA’s payment centers and all levels of the administrative appeals process (including field offices, hearing offices, and the Appeals Council); screening cases for dire need, critical case, and on the record requests; drafting pre and post-hearing briefs, Appeals Council briefs, and other written submissions to the SSA.
Required Education and Qualifications
- Strong communication, writing and analytical skills
- Two to five years of Social Security Disability experience (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook
- Ability to handle large caseloads and work closely with other attorneys, paralegals and staff members.
- Must be admitted to the NYS Bar, licensed and in good standing
