SUMMARY: This position is responsible for developing annual and monthly Court calendars and overseeing and supervising calendar staff in the scheduling of criminal and civil matters including jury and bench trials, confirming and rescheduling continued matters and arranging courtroom space for outside groups as required; investigates and recommends to the Court ways in which technology can be introduced or better utilized to more efficiently perform core calendar functions and provide greater access to scheduling information to litigants; prepares statistics and reports for the President Judge, Court and Court Administrator relating to all aspects of civil and criminal matters, including filings, dispositions, settlements, verdicts and jury utilization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:
· Develops and maintains accurate annual and monthly Court calendars subject to approval by the President Judge and/or Court Administrator, including managing changes to active, visiting and senior judges’ schedules in coordination with the relevant Judicial Assistant(s).
· Performs and/or oversees various scheduling functions, including scheduling civil jury and non-jury trials, criminal jury and non-jury trials, equity trials, miscellaneous civil hearings, miscellaneous criminal hearings, settlement and pre-trial conferences, and coordinating and revising the schedule generally or in individual cases as the Court or circumstances dictate.
· Maintains and can communicate knowledge of the Court’s case flow management processes.
· Oversees the Court’s Arbitration system, including scheduling all matters praecipaed for arbitration, scheduling and coordinating boards of arbitrators, evaluating requests for continuance and granting or denial of same, organizes and supervises the appearance of arbitrators, counsel, litigants, and witnesses on scheduled arbitration days.
· Oversees preparation of notice for scheduled matters as required.
· Seeks to advance scheduling efficiency and availability of scheduling information to litigants and counsel through use of new and/or enhanced technology.
· Develops and provides statistical reporting information regarding civil and criminal court as required by the President Judge, Court or Court Administrator.
· Supervises and assigns responsibilities to Judicial Calendar Coordinators.
· Responds to inquiries regarding the scheduling status of all matters on the Court schedule.
· Coordinates as necessary with the Office of Jury Management concerning the jury pool needs.
· Under the supervision and approval of the President Judge and Court Administrator, coordinates and schedules use of courtrooms for purposes outside of normal proceedings, including but not limited to mock trial competitions and higher court, Bar Association or other ceremonies.
· Schedules and/or oversees the scheduling of matters including but not limited to Sentencings, ARD’s, Probation and Parole Violation hearings, Summary Appeals, miscellaneous Civil and Criminal motions, and conferences, including case management and settlement.
· Performs other duties as may be assigned or requested by the President Judge, Court and/or Court Administrator.

· Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in the field of public or judicial administration is preferable.
· Proficient computer skills (Microsoft, Excel, Access, Power Point, etc.) required.
· Ability to effectively present information to upper management, the public and Judges.
· Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
· Knowledgeable about developments in court management through participation in professional organizations, review of professional publications, seminars and conferences of colleagues in the field.

Pay: $72,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
