Our SelectLeaders client is a Philadelphia-based real estate private equity firm that specializes in the acquisition and management of opportunistic industrial and flex assets in the Greater Northeast region of the United States.
Founded in 2017, our client brings an institutional approach to their investment strategy, focusing on middle-and upper-middle market B & C Industrial/Flex-product primarily located in the SEPA/SNJ markets. As a fully integrated firm – with internal infrastructure ranging from construction to property management – they deliver an unmatched approach to strategic industrial acquisitions and asset management. The firm currently owns and manages over 9 million square feet of industrial space in the Greater Northeast region.
Primary Responsibilities include (among other duties):
Prepare and maintain closing checklists for acquisitions, dispositions, and loan transactions
Order and review title commitments, arrange for purchase of title insurance including applicable endorsements
Review contracts for critical dates; calendar and monitor deadlines
Follow up on post-closing items, including preparation of closing binders
Draft escrow instructions and conveyance docs
Research resale requirements in municipalities for compliance
Prepare/file entity formation documents and obtain EINs
Prepare operating agreements, resolutions, and incumbency documents
Apply for Bulk Sales Certificates, Certificates of Occupancy and related documents
Coordinate execution of signature pages and notarize documents at closing
Coordinate and obtain due diligence materials
Process Service Company invoices
Maintain legal tracker of tasks assigned to the legal department
Assist with litigation matters – track cases/update tracker, coordinate signatures for outside counsel, and maintain electronic versions of filed documents.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and/or Paralegal Certificate
Active Pennsylvania notary commission
3-5 years supporting a Commercial Real Estate practice group in a law firm or in-house environment.
Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively in a virtual environment
Ability to manage workflow and work under tight deadlines and other time constraints with competing and shifting priorities
Very strong computer skills, especially Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, and Adobe Acrobat
Strong sense of urgency and professional dedication
Strong project management skills
