National law firm has an immediate opening for a skilled and experienced legal assistant in civil litigation and construction defect in its Las Vegas office. Qualified candidates must have 5+ years of Nevada experience in a legal assistant and/or legal secretary position in a law firm setting. Insurance defense is highly preferred. This position is hybrid and will require you to come into the office 2-3 days per week. Therefore, you must live in the greater Las Vegas area - no exceptions.
Skills and Responsibilities, include but are not limited to the following:
E-filing experience in Nevada, both State and Federal Court
Familiar with Civil, Arbitration & Mediation procedures/filings
Familiar with Clark County District Court, Justice Court (All Counties), Elko County, Douglas County and Washoe County Court procedures/filings
Familiar with scheduling depositions with Court Reporting agencies
Maintain attorneys calendar by planning and scheduling zoom meetings, depositions, mediations, teleconferences, and travel arrangements
Ability to engage with attorneys, clients, vendors and court personnel in support of successful case workflow
Have the ability to communicate with outside law firms to schedule depositions and other meetings as needed
Proof and finalize correspondence, pleadings, discovery, motions, and prepare routine shells though macros
Ability to prepare and file pleading documents and discovery documents while consulting with the attorney
Ability to open and close legal files
Handle general correspondence between outside law firms, clients, and insurance carriers
Heavy document management organizational skills
Ability to manage invoices for third-party vendors and processing check requests
Record and track deadlines through docketing and calendar system
Able to provide support to multiple attorneys

Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; specifically in Outlook, Word, Excel, iManage, eDockets & Zoom
Self-starter with the ability to integrate into a fast-paced & team oriented environment
Requires the ability to work 40 Hours a week Monday-Friday – Hybrid position.
