About the Role
We’re seeking a Senior Legal Project Manager to support a large, enterprise-level Legal & Corporate Affairs department at a Fortune 500 healthcare company (client confidential). This high-impact W2 contract role is ideal for a proactive, experienced project leader who excels at managing cross-functional legal initiatives and driving strategic programs to completion.
You’ll oversee and mentor a Legal Project Manager (Advisor-level) and collaborate with stakeholders across Legal Operations, Technology, Finance, and Information Security. The focus will be on active project ownership—ensuring tasks are completed on time, blockers are addressed quickly, and stakeholders are kept aligned and informed.
This is not an administrative role—our client needs a true driver who will lead initiatives forward, engage confidently with leadership, and improve overall project health across the Legal & Corporate Affairs function.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Legal Project Management Office (LPMO) and oversee enterprise-wide legal initiatives
- Actively manage projects from intake through execution, resolution, and delivery
- Assign, track, and support projects across Legal and Corporate Affairs, including close coordination with legal technology teams
- Conduct regular check-ins with stakeholders, escalate critical items, and ensure project milestones are achieved
- Develop and maintain documentation, playbooks, project maps, and executive-level status reports
- Define success metrics and KPIs; implement best practices to increase operational efficiency
- Lead steering committee calls, facilitate issue resolution, and propose actionable solutions
- Support ongoing implementation of new legal systems and technologies
Required Skills & Experience
- 8–10 years of project management experience, including at least 5 years supporting Legal and/or Compliance functions
- Proven success managing complex, cross-functional initiatives in large organizations
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Confident communicator with a proactive, solutions-focused mindset
- Experience collaborating with Legal Ops, Technology, Finance, and other corporate teams
- Proficiency with MS PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred
- PMP certification strongly preferred
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments
- Demonstrates initiative and can push projects forward without micromanagement
- Experienced in presenting to senior stakeholders and managing up
- Comfortable stepping into in-flight projects and quickly ramping up
- Previous background in Legal or Healthcare is a plus, but not required
