Position Description: We are seeking an experienced paralegal to join our Homeless Legal Rights Unit. The paralegal will assist attorneys and take primary responsibility for case files, acting with a substantial degree of independence and responsibility.
Qualifications
Ability to analyze and draft legal documents
Proficient with technology
Tracking deadlines
Overseeing administrative tasks such as filing, scheduling, and answering calls
Ability to prepare and maintain comprehensive spreadsheets
Ability to perform legal research using online/electronic databases
Experience serving low-income communities preferred but not required
Demonstrable awareness and sensitivity to the needs of the populations we serve
Ability to prioritize work activities
Willingness to accept directions from Supervising Attorney and other team members
Spirit of teamwork and cooperation
Dependable work record, including prompt and regular availability
Good written and communication skills
Bachelor's degree
Entry-level, will train
Certification in paralegal studies is a plus
Ability to speak more than one language is a plus
Salary and Benefits: This exempt, full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $44,000 to $50,000, commensurate with experience. The salary for the successful applicant may be significantly higher based on years of experience.
