Corporate Counsel / Litigation Unleashed Brands is looking for a highly motivated team player to join our growing legal team. You will work closely with senior leadership and report directly to the General Counsel, building trusted relationships across cross-functional teams and with external partners. We operate with minimal hierarchy—your ideas and contributions will make an immediate impact. This is not a remote position. The candidate will be required to work in the Corporate office in Dallas/Fort Worth, Texas. This position will include the following responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities
Claims & Litigation Management: Oversee and manage all general liability, workers’ compensation, and employment-related litigation matters in collaboration with outside counsel, insurance brokers, and claims adjusters.
Insurance & Risk Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between Unleashed Brands and outside insurance partners, including brokers and third-party adjusters, ensuring timely and accurate communication and resolution of claims.
Policy Development: Develop and implement strategies to reduce litigation risk and legal spend. Draft and implement terms of use, internal policies, consumer disclosures, and other compliance-focused documentation.
Legal Strategy: Provide practical, strategic legal advice across a wide range of business initiatives.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with other legal team members and business partners to drive consistency, share insights, and support business goals.
Negotiation: Participate in mediations, arbitration, and settlement conferences as needed.
Qualifications
5–10+ years of relevant legal experience in-house and/or at a law firm
Experience managing litigation related to general liability, workers’ compensation, and employment matters
Proven ability to collaborate with and manage external legal counsel, insurance brokers, and claims professionals
Experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and vendor agreements
Exceptional communication skills and sound business judgment
Familiarity with insurance coverage issues and claims handling processes
Ability to translate complex legal concepts into clear and actionable business guidance
JD from an accredited law school and active membership in the Texas State Bar
