Description Of Duties
Document Review (25%): Review POAs, authorized representative forms, HIPAA authorizations, and other representative documents for sufficiency.
Legal Filings & Discovery (25%): Prepare motions and preliminary legal filings, gather information for discovery requests from opposing counsel or appellants.
Research & Hearing Preparation (25%): Research laws, rules, and policies related to TennCare Medicaid, prepare Notices of Hearing, and collaborate with Appeal Litigation Specialists to create information packets for hearings.
Litigation & Appeals (25%): Litigate appeals through administrative hearings, conduct legal research to identify cases for appeal, and draft necessary appellate documents and pleadings.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university
Juris Doctor from an accredited college or university
Active License to practice law in Tennessee
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage workload to meet deadlines
Excellent writing and communication skills
Ability to foster and maintain cohesive working relationships
Sound judgment and ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Ability to interpret and execute public policy
Proficient with multiple computer systems and applications
Desirable Qualifications
