Description
Williams & Connolly LLP is currently seeking a Legal Secretary to directly support multiple litigation attorneys. Legal Secretaries work in teams to provide for coverage and support the attorneys on their floor. This position reports to the Human Resources Manager. Specific duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Create, edit and proofread legal documents, spreadsheets, and other materials. Copy, print and assemble same;
- Prepare documents for court filings, both in hard copy and electronic, including creating TOCs and TOAs both manually and electronically;
- Enter attorney"s time and expenses;
- Coordinate and manage domestic and international travel;
- Coordinate and manage conference room set ups, conference calls, catering, equipment, and all arrangements needed for internal and external meetings;
- Assist with the preparation of all materials for arbitrations, hearings, trials, and the like. Attend as an on-site assistant when needed;
- Maintain client listing, contact lists, and a filing system both in hard and soft copy; and
- Perform other typical legal secretary tasks as assigned.
Requirements
Candidates must have prior experience as a Legal Secretary or comparable administrative experience in a law firm or professional services organization. To be successful, candidates will need to possess excellent communication and organizational skills, a polished demeanor and the ability to coordinate and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. We are also seeking candidates that are highly detail oriented, and can act as a team player. In addition, candidates must have the ability to work overtime as needed and be able to travel occasionally. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required.
While performing the duties of this position, candidates must be able to sit for long periods of time, repeat motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers, and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
The hours are 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. After successfully completing the introductory period, the candidate will be eligible to work the department's approved hybrid schedule.
This is a non-exempt position. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $60,000 - $75,000 The final offer amount is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, years of experience, education, and other relevant skills and qualifications.
