We are currently in search of a Paralegal to join our expanding Legal Department. This role entails working closely with our General Legal Counsel on a diverse array of legal affairs, encompassing litigation, corporate governance, compliance, records management and retention, workers’ compensation, and other pertinent areas as required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Legal Research: Conduct thorough legal research using various resources such as statutes, regulations, case law, and legal publications to support attorneys in case preparation and strategy.
- Documentation Preparation and Review: Draft and review legal documents, including contracts, pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Case Management: Assist in managing cases by organizing and maintaining case files, tracking deadlines, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assistance in Litigation: Support attorneys during all stages of litigation, including preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions, as well as managing document production and electronic discovery.
- Corporate Governance and Compliance: Assist in corporate governance matters, such as drafting corporate resolutions, maintaining corporate records, and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Records Management: Maintain and organize legal documents and records, including electronic databases and physical files, ensuring proper indexing and accessibility.
- Communication and Correspondence: Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, and other relevant parties through written correspondence, emails, and phone calls under attorney supervision.
- Assistance in Regulatory Compliance: Support attorneys in addressing regulatory compliance matters by conducting compliance audits, drafting compliance policies and procedures, and assisting with regulatory filings.
- Legal Support Tasks: Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings, managing calendars, and preparing expense reports for attorneys, as well as providing general office support.
- Continuing Education: Stay updated on changes in laws, regulations, and legal procedures through ongoing legal education and professional development activities.

Qualifications:
- Educational Background: Possess an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or a related field. A paralegal certificate from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited program is advantageous.
- Experience: Ideally, have previous experience in a legal environment, gained through internships, clerkships, or entry-level positions in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, or non-profit organizations.
- Legal Knowledge: Demonstrate a strong understanding of legal principles, procedures, and terminology, with familiarity in substantive areas of law relevant to the employer’s focus.
- Research and Writing Skills: Proficient in conducting legal research, drafting legal documents, and communicating effectively with attorneys and other stakeholders.
- Attention to Detail: Possess keen attention to detail to ensure accuracy and completeness in preparing and reviewing legal documents and case files.
- Organizational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized case files and documents efficiently.
- Communication Skills: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with attorneys, clients, court personnel, and other stakeholders.
- Computer Proficiency: Skilled in using word processing software, legal research databases, case management systems, and other technology tools essential in the legal profession.
- Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish and English, with the ability to communicate effectively in both languages. This includes conducting legal research, drafting documents, and communicating with clients and other stakeholders in Spanish when necessary.
- Ethical Conduct: Adhere to ethical standards and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive legal matters, with a thorough understanding of legal ethics rules and guidelines.

Pay: $66,560.00 - $85,000.00 per year
