Bruiser Holdings LLC (the “Company”), a real-estate investment company headquartered in Chicago, Illinois with a satellite office in Annapolis, Maryland, seeks an entrepreneurial real-estate attorney to help support the Company’s growth in the State of Maryland and District of Columbia.
The Company and its affiliates have invested over $800 million in tax liens and deeds and typically is among the largest tax-lien buyers in Maryland and D.C. The Company and its affiliates are strategically expanding operations and growing their real-estate portfolio in Maryland and D.C.
The Company seeks to hire an entrepreneurial associate, licensed to practice law in Maryland and D.C., who is well-versed in the legal and business aspects of acquiring, financing, leasing, and managing real estate and enforcing equitable and contractual rights and remedies related thereto. The ideal candidate views himself or herself as an entrepreneur and has the business and legal acumen and skills necessary to advance our growth strategy. This position will report directly to the Company’s CEO and general counsel and will provide litigation and strategic support to the Company’s lead litigator and in-house paralegal.

- Providing ongoing legal counseling in a range of areas, such as real estate, litigation, contracts, finance, basic corporate law, and governmental and regulatory compliance
- Serving as lead counsel for all stages of the Company’s litigation matters in Maryland and D.C.
- Strategic planning and resolving issues as they arise within the attorney’s scope of responsibility
- Directly advising senior legal and business leaders on key issues and strategic initiatives
- Supervising and collaborating with the Company’s in-house legal and business teams
- Structuring, negotiating, and drafting commercial agreements
- Participating in and driving the Company’s strategic growth in the Maryland and D.C. markets

- J.D. degree
- Admission to practice law in the State of Maryland and District of Columbia
- 2-5 years of experience, ideally in a real-estate intensive transactional or litigation practice
:
- Prior or current experience as a real estate investor
- Licensure, or willing to obtain licensure, as a real estate broker in Maryland and/or D.C.
- Ability to demonstrate sound judgment in ambiguous situations
- Ability to work independently while being able to lead / contribute successfully to a team
- Excellent organizational and communication skills; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, develop and expand strategic partnerships, follow-through, and meet deadlines
