The Paralegal Associate works under the direction and supervision of Chief Legal Officer to assist in all aspects of the contract preparation process along with related filings and maintenance of the organization’s document management system(s). Acts as a representative of the organization in communications with internal stakeholders, external law firms, governmental agencies and the courts.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- High School Diploma/GED
- Associate degree in Paralegal Studies
Experience
- 1 year as a corporate paralegal or licensed attorney, operating in the capacity of a legal assistant/paralegal or attorney.
- May consider a combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
- Knowledge of legal functions and procedural/substantive civil litigation.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and succinctly.
- Proficiency with MS office products and familiarity with electronic court dockets.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to work independently.
- Experience preparing exhibits for litigation, preparing witness testimony and various court filings is strongly preferred
License/Certification/Registration
- Paralegal certificate and/or Juris Doctorate degree preferred.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED
Receives minimal supervision from the Chief Legal Officer.
