Paid to: Support the efficiency and organization of the legal function while ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, contractual requirements and internal policies and procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Providing effective Matter Management to include contracts administration, maintenance of litigation and claims status summaries and coordination of diligence information.
- Assistance with coordination of training programs and events and maintenance of templates of agreements and legal SOPs.
- Become an expert user of our legal department software systems including SharePoint, LinkSquares and Simple Legal.
- Reviewing and responding to routine legal inquiries with the supervision and guidance of the Chief Legal Officer, General Counsel and other Legal Department colleagues and outside counsel.
- Functioning as a primary point of contact for the legal department for managed properties & third-party vendors.
- Assisting the Chief Legal Officer and General Counsel in tracking new projects and incoming communications to ensure that all matters are properly attended to.
- Overseeing formation and maintenance of legal entities.
- Coordination of execution (including notarization) of contracts, loan documents, certificates, resolutions and other associated documentation.
- Maintaining awareness of the big picture while staying on top of approaching deadlines and tactical needs.
- Completing administrative tasks such as opening mail, scanning documents, scheduling calls, booking travel, completing expense reports and other similar routine matters efficiently and professionally.
- Developing institutional knowledge and awareness and establishing strong professional relationships with colleagues across the KSL Resorts Portfolio and other affiliated businesses.
- Occasional travel to assist with training, due diligence, property transitions and other matters as needed.
- Exercise discretion and maintain the confidentiality of sensitive business and legal information at all times.
- Any other responsibilities/duties as shall be assigned from time to time
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in paralegal studies, legal studies, or related field preferred.
- Familiarity with contract management systems & document automation is a plus.
- Ability to travel occasionally to assist with training, due diligence, transitions, etc.
