Midwest Disability, a Law Firm based in Coon Rapids, Minnesota, is looking for an Associate Attorney for our Social Security department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Represent firm clients in hearings before Administrative Law Judges; requires some travel
- Write legal briefs for Social Security Disability Hearings and Appeals Council review
- Review medical evidence and case specifics; address issues as needed
- Display a willingness to empathize with our clients’ needs, to dedicate the time needed to properly resolve all inquiries and ensure clients’ satisfaction with our services provided
- Direct staff on case preparation needs and act as a resource concerning Social security Disability processes and procedures
- Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- J .D. required as well as admissions to a state bar. Prior experience with Social Security Disability law preferred.
- Strong work ethic and high expectations for personal and employee performance.
- Consistent, reliable attendance.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Word, Excel, Outlook.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple competing priorities on a regular basis.
- Able to express ideas clearly and concisely and adapt messages to a variety of audiences.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
