Miller Law is a busy practice that specializes in helping injured workers get what they need in the Oregon workers’ compensation system. We are looking for a smart, experienced, and friendly person to join our team.
We are currently seeking a full-time legal assistant with 1-5 years of workers’ compensation experience. We have an office in Portland, but you will work out of your home. Geographic location in the state is negotiable.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Frequent phone, email, and text interactions with potential and current clients
- Solving a variety of client’s claim needs
- Setting up and organizing new files in Adobe
- Organizing Exhibit Lists
- Requesting Hearings
- Writing and editing correspondence/legal documents
- Setting up phone conferences, depositions, and meetings
- Requesting medical records
- Requesting and organizing bills
Skills and Qualifications
- Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Windows, Excel, Outlook, Word, Adobe, Dropbox, Teams, etc.). Be comfortable using a case management database - training provided upon hire
- Ability to proofread material for contextual, grammatical, and spelling errors
- A desire and ability to take ownership over work assignments and work product
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously
- Excellent written, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Be a team player and support all staff members
- Customer service driven
- Access to fast internet speeds with ability to upload and download large files
- Must be self-driven and complete work with little supervision
- Prefer bilingual (English/Spanish)
