CORPORATE COUNSEL
Based in our NYC Corporate Office (not remote)
PURPOSE:
The Corporate Lawyer will provide legal counsel and support to the Inditex organizations in the US and Puerto Rico, focusing on real estate leasing, construction transactions, technology agreements, consumer matters, litigation management, and various other projects. This role is essential in ensuring that all legal aspects of the company's operations are managed effectively and in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The Corporate Lawyer will work closely with various departments to draft, review, and negotiate a variety of agreements, manage legal risks, and provide strategic advice to support the company's business objectives.
KEW RESPONSABILITIES:
- Draft, review and negotiate real estate leasing agreements and related documentation including SNDAs, estoppel, and amendment agreements as well as various transactional commercial agreements including software, and technology agreements
- Provide strategic counseling to business partners across multiple business lines
- Oversee external counsel on litigation matters
- Perform legal research on various areas of regulation including, sustainability, international trade, consumer protection, privacy, regulatory review, risk mitigation, product and labeling review
- Flexible approach to meeting time-sensitive business needs
- Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations affecting the retail industry
REQUIREMENTS:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school in the US
- Admitted to the New York State Bar (in good standing)
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in corporate law, preferably with in-house experience in the retail sector
- Experience with drafting and negotiating a wide variety of commercial agreements and strong expertise of contract law, retail real estate, and construction US laws
- Prior litigation management experience
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- High ethical standards and a commitment to integrity
- New York notary public
- Spanish proficiency helpful but not required
Annual compensation range: $162,000 - $202,000 + discretionary bonus
