Job Summary
The MLS Legal department is looking for a Legal Assistant to support the Legal Affairs team with administrative tasks and specific responsibilities related to investigations, policies, and presentations.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Support League policy management, including drafting, distribution, and compliance.
- Assist with preparing PowerPoint presentations and other materials, including decks, guides, tracking charts, checklists, and reports.
- Assist (under the supervision of MLS attorneys) with investigatory needs, including factual analyses, informational intake, and summaries.
- Manage documents, electronic files, and the response process to litigation discovery requests.
- Support independent contractor processes, including creating templates and interacting with internal stakeholders on departmental needs and engagement requests.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Salary: $28.75/hr, up to 21 hours each week
Qualifications
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated individual with outstanding organizational and analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Ability to proofread material for grammatical or spelling errors
- Sound business judgment and flexibility/adaptability to prioritize, organize, manage, and complete time-sensitive matters without sacrificing accuracy
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
- High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics, integrity, and compliance
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast-paced, team environment
- Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Knowledge of the Spanish and/or French Language (business proficiency)
