The People Operations Fellow will assist the department with a wide range of projects related to People Ops compliance, compensation, reporting and employee benefits. In this position, the Fellow will learn how to apply skills acquired in school to a professional setting.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Learn about the company’s policies, employee benefits, and other People Ops -related matters to be able to respond to any internal staff inquiries.
- Participate in the benefits renewal and conduct analysis to support the process.
- Monitor and update reports for various retirement plans to comply with federal law and audit issues.
- Assist with new employee onboarding regarding benefits.
- Process benefit changes due to life events like marriage, birth or termination.
- Maintain accurate employee benefit records and databases.
- Using HRM platform, create user tools for employees utilizing the benefits platform. Create other user tools for HRM platform.
- Participate in organizing company events and activities (planning, setup, staffing)
- Prepare materials and craft content for employee benefit communications using Canva, PowerPoint, Home Plate (company Intranet) and other related software.
- Assist with the employee Wellness Program to create content for employee wellness campaigns.
- Answer high volume of calls throughout the day and occasionally cover the reception desk.
- Help support People Ops team with employee incentives (FPIC, Sell-Out Cookies).
- Other duties as assigned.
Basic Requirements/Qualifications
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and can work in a confidential setting
- Highly organized and efficient worker; skilled at multi-tasking
- Reliable and personable; enjoy working with a diverse range of individuals and ensuring employee requirements and needs are met first
- Ability to analyze data and provide recommendations
- Familiarity with HRIS systems and Microsoft suite
- Experience with PowerPoint, Canva and Excel
- Current student with a graduation date of December 2024/January 2025 OR within one year post graduation
- Must be available to live and work in Los Angeles or your assigned office location throughout the duration of your 5-month program from March to August 2025
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Passionate about working for a professional sports team
- Proactive and out of the box thinking
