Why This Role Exists
At our firm, we believe in creating a space where skilled immigration lawyers can focus on what they do best: practicing law. We know the value of your expertise, your passion for advocacy, and your drive to make a difference. This role is designed for those who want the freedom to do meaningful legal work—without the burden of running a law firm or managing administrative tasks.
What You’ll Be a Part Of
Immigration law changes lives. It’s not just about filing paperwork or following procedure—it’s about reuniting families, offering hope, and empowering individuals to build a better future. When you join our team, you’re stepping into a role that allows you to focus on the legal strategies that matter most, while we handle the day-to-day operations.
Your Role
You’ll have the autonomy to set your own schedule and work from anywhere, doing the work that inspires you:
- Legal Strategy & Oversight: Guide paralegals and review their work to ensure accuracy and alignment with client goals.
- Powerful Legal Drafting: Draft EOIR motions, BIA appeals, legal briefs, and compelling client declarations.
- Research That Matters: Dive into jurisdiction-specific legal research and prepare country conditions research to strengthen asylum and immigration cases.
- Overflow Consultations: Step in during peak times to provide clarity and support for clients seeking immigration solutions.
- Collaborative Tools: Use systems like Docketwise, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office to streamline your work—so you can focus on results, not admin.
What You’ll Gain
- Freedom: Choose your own hours and work remotely. Whether you’re a morning thinker or a night owl, this role fits your life.
- Focus: Spend your time practicing law, not managing a practice. Let us handle the mundane tasks so you can make an impact.
- Flexibility: This role is perfect for experienced immigration lawyers who want to contribute meaningfully while balancing their personal and professional lives.
Who You Are
- A licensed attorney with at least 3 years of immigration law experience.
- Skilled in drafting motions, briefs, and declarations that tell a compelling story.
- Comfortable with legal research, client consultations, and guiding paralegals to gather the right information.
- Proficient in Docketwise, Google Drive, and Microsoft Office.
- Most importantly, you’re passionate about using your expertise to help people navigate the immigration system with confidence.
Nice-to-Haves:
- Spanish language would be advantageous, but it's not a deal-breaker.
Compensation
We value your expertise and time:
- $40/hour for consultations.
- $50/hour for all other legal work.
- $100/hour for court appearances (if you'd like to do that!)
